Wind explores the idea of wind as a sentient presence, through both lyric and harmony. It is scored for SATB Voices a cappella, with three-part soprano, alto, and tenor splits, and a two-part bass split.
The original concept of Wind was created in a coffee shop, on a really, really rainy day. I remember looking out the windows and finding a sense of wonder within the stormy atmosphere unfolding before me. Inspired, I wrote down a few expanding-contracting-type chord progressions and a few lines of descriptive poetry to capture the moment. Those notes and words would later become the basis of Wind.

Text by Luca Pecora
blowing softly though the trees
leaves flutter through the autumn breeze
whispering secrets none may know
from corners of the earth where only you can go
whispering, weaving, soaring high
mountains to stars in the sky
drifting, wandering, swooping low
valleys to meadows, 'till sunrise glow
